Unable to find a result for a search keyword

Problem Statement

The user is not able to find results for a search keyword that has a partial match in the content sources.
For Example, A search query "Database" will not yield any result if the content contains the "DatabaseMigration" keyword.

Environment

Solution

SearchUnify matches the exact keyword as entered in the search box with the crawled content. Due to technical limitations, currently, it is not possible to split a single search keyword into multiple parts and do a partial match with the keywords in the content source. This even holds good for keywords split by a special character. For Example, "Document-2345" search keyword will not be able to search "DocumentInProduction" in the content sources even though it has a partial match for the keyword "Document".

To make partial search work, the user needs to add a synonym. More info can be found here
