Solution

Admins have the option to give custom labels to a desired facet from the SearchUnify Admin Panel.

Steps to change the labels are mentioned below:
1. Click on Content Source tab on the sidebar.
2. Click on Edit option for the desired content source.
3. Click on Rule option.
1. You will find the crawled content type with an assigned Label
2. Click on Edit and Change the Label name

Question Why some Search facets are visible to a specific group of people and not to others even though they are made visible to all the users in admin panel? Environment Production Reported product version C'20 Resolved in version C'20 Module Search Client Answer If a user does not have access to content for that facet type, then those facets will not be visible. However, within SearchUnify admin panel, a user can bypass permissions for content source such that all the content and facets become visible to all the users. To bypass access permissions for a given content source, navigate to Search Clients > Edit > Content Sources, select a content source and enable the toggle bar as shown in the figure below..

Problem Statement How to limit the search results and the facet values specifically for a search client? Environment Production Reported product version Mamba'20 Resolved in version Mamba'20 Module Search Client Resolution To filter out an entire set of documents from search results without deleting them from a content source, there's an option Create Formula under the Search Client configurations. Follow the below steps to limit the search results for a search client: Navigate to Search Clients in the Admin panel and click on Edit icon for a Search client. Navigate to Content Source tab. Select the Content Type and Click Create Formula. Drag and drop the Content field for which you want to restrict the search results. Enable the Regex Toggle and add the Regex Filter Expression to filter the results. Please refer to this article for more details. Please follow the below steps to Exclude values from facets for a Search client: Navigate to Search Clients in the Admin panel and click on Edit icon for a Search client. Navigate to Content Source tab. Once a Content type is selected as facet, it will show an Exclude option to remove certain facet values. Click Exclude. Enter the Facet values (separated by commas) that you want to exclude, and click Save. Note: Don't put a space between a facet value and a comma. Please refer to this article for more details.

Question Why do icons appear on Search Results even though there are no icons selected for a content source in the admin panel? Why Metadata results show no icons even though there are icons selected for a content source in the Admin panel? Can we refer to the asset library in Search Client's designer tab for the CSS? Environment Production Reported product version C'20 Resolved in version C'20 Module Search Client Answer By default, Search Results display the thumbnails fetched by the SearchUnify crawlers while crawling the webpage. So when community pages are crawled, crawlers automatically pick up the images available on the page and display them as a thumbnail on the search results. In order to hide such thumbnails, you can add an entry ".su__m-thumbnail-img .su-thumb { display: none; }" in the CSS stylesheet under Admin Panel -> Search Client -> Designer tab. Icons are not shown for the search results metadata. Furthermore, you can hide the metadata information of the search results from the Admin panel by following the below document. https://docs.searchunify.com/Content/End-User-Personalization/Personalize-How-Results-Are-Displayed.htm? Yes, we can refer to icons stored in the asset library in Search Client's designer tab for CSS. Formula defined for private discussions in SearchClient is not correct The group has been moved from public to private and no recrawl is done Solution: Please ensure: The "Privacy Status" of the group is set to ‘hidden’ in order to exclude indexing of such groups by SearchUnify crawlers. If a formula defined to filter private discussions contains nested navigational topics, then it will display all the content to all the users as SearchUnify currently only supports navigational topics on discussions. As most of the feed items in a discussion group are tagged to visibility, you need to recrawl the data to filter out the private content.

Make sure the structure of the sitemap is correct. After uploading the sitemap, to enable the connect/save button, make sure the Client URL includes the domain location as shown below.

Problem Statement: Why are duplicate search results coming? Environment Production Reported product version C'20 Resolved in version C'20 Module Search Client Causes: Duplicate content sources (same content is present in multiple content sources). Updated the crawling configuration that returned the same articles with http:// and https:// protocols. Updated the title of an article and have not yet published the article. Solution: Remove the duplicate content from one of the content repositories. In case any dummy content source is added that contains duplicate content, it can be removed by the following steps- a) Login to SU Admin panel b) Go to Content Sources c) Click on the delete option to remove the content source If the crawling configuration is updated and it is returning duplicate articles with http:// and https:// protocols, you can filter out results so that only articles either from http:// or https:// are shown. Problem Statement: Why is the metatag seen in the search results not the same as the metatag on the article? How do I populate the "Created date" metadata field value on the search results with "Published date"? Can SearchUnify truncate metatag values in search results? Environment Production Reported product version M'21 Resolved in version M'21 Module Search Client Solution: The metatag field can be selected and populated while configuring the search client in the admin panel. Please check: https://docs.searchunify.com/Content/Search-Clients/Configure-the-Content-Sources.htm If metadata tags don’t show the correct value, it is advised to recrawl the content source so that the metadata tags pick the correct values. To manually recrawl the content source please follow: https://docs.searchunify.com/Content/Content-Sources/Recrawl.htm As of now, we cannot truncate the metatag value if it is occupying a bigger portion of the search results page. However, with M21, users will be able to preview the search results page with a bigger metadata field value. Problem Statement Why are some of the documents not indexed by SU crawlers? Environment Production Reported product version C'20 Resolved in version C'20 Module Search Client Causes Too large document size for crawlers to crawl. Solutions Truncate the document size and set it for a recrawl.
