Is it possible to hide search results unless a specific facet is selected?

  • Hello,

Is it possible to hide search results unless a specific facet is selected?

We have articles in our knowledge base for products that we no longer support. We'd like for users to be able to find these articles if they truly need them, but we don't want them appearing in a normal search since they will not apply to the majority of our users.

I would like these articles to only appear if the user has selected the appropriate facet, and to be hidden if it is not selected.

    Can this be done?

  • Hi @TNilan !

thank you for posting your query here. The older documentation coming inside the search results seems like a pain for the users. In SearchUnify, the results from a few facet categories cannot be hidden per se. Also, they cannot be negatively boosted (should not come on the first pages, even if they match the search query).
This looks like a good implementation idea for our next release. We request you to post an idea here so that it can be escalated:

    Thank you!

  • @TNilan this seems to be doable through some search results tuning. @bharat would appreciate if you can share more insights.
