Ability to easily control the layout of metadata fields in the results summary

Hello,

We would like to be able to easily arrange the results summary metadata fields so that they are as compact as possible.  This would allow for more efficient use of vertical space in the summary, thus allowing for more results to be displayed on a page.

For example, it looks like the arrangement defaults to alphabetical order in 2 columns.  We would like to be able to add additional columns, as well as manually determine the placement of each metadata field (possibly using a drag and drop technique).

We realize that we can potentially achieve these results using the Search Client Editor and CSS customization, but we are looking to perform these changes easily without writing code.
