What is the logic used to group dates?

We have a filter for Created date.
What is the logic that creates the grouping, like last week, last month, last year, etc?

  Hey @... , SU aggregates data on the basis of created date of the document. That means in the filter there exists 5 subsets Past Day,Past Week,Past Month,Past Year,All Time. Try to understand with following example:
  If a document has been created yesterday then it comes under in Past Day, Past week, Past Month, Past year, All time.
  If it has been created within a week not yesterday then it comes under in Past week, Past Month, Past year, All time.
  If it has been created within a month not within the week then it comes under in Past Month, Past year, All time and so on.
