Selecting multiple facets before refresh

When selecting facets, each facet selection refreshes the page. This is generating feedback from internal users who would like the ability to select multiple facets in one go, without having the page automatically refresh.

For example, if I want to select 5 facets, the page will refresh 5 times.

Is there a way to select multiple facets and then apply those selections in a single search?

Note: We'll be creating merged facets for some products, which is where this problem usually occurs, but not for every product.
